SUNDAY! Remember, it's Sunday!
Sunday at 4:00
Como Park Lantern Festival
~ admission is $5!
Meeting up in front of the welcome center
- where the pink arrow is on this map! ...look for the geek with a Sho uchiwa! :D
Stay as long or as little as you feel comfortable with!! I'll probably just be chilling there all evening - I love Como Park! - so if you can't come until later, that's cool! The lantern lighting doesn't start until later, either.
it looks like it's going to be soooo fun!! ;D quote:
Taiko drums, martial arts, Ikebana, sushi and other aspects of Japanese culture, will be featured at the annual Como Park Japanese Lantern Lighting Festival, a family-friendly event, reminiscent of Japan’s annual Obon holiday, on Sunday, August 17, 2008 on the grounds of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in Como Park.
IF YOU NEED HELP GETTING THERE
message me or email me at sourringo@gmail.com
I will either help you navigate how to get there by bus, if I can, or figure out a way to get you a ride.
I REALLY want anyone who wants to come to be able to come, so I'm very willing to give people rides, so long as between 3:00ish and 4:00 works time-wise. (I have work until 2:30...)
I hope to see as many people there Sunday as possible!! If you're going with other people, too, feel free to stop by and say hi!
On a completely different note from what's been going on of late... I have a sort-of update on the Twin Cities Arashi Meet-Up, part 1!
We're looking to see how many people we can get to go to the Como Park Lantern Festival. It's $5 for admission... not free but definitely on the cheap side... so here's some more info!
A link to the page for the Lantern Festival is here:

it starts at 3:00 pm, and admission is $5 (does that work for everyone?)
Should we meet around 3:00? 3:30? 4:00? It goes until dusk and you may stay as long or as little as you'd like... is there a time that works best for everyone? 5:00 maybe?

Probably the easiest thing to do would be to meet up in front of

If anybody really, really needs a ride and lives not too far from the city (sorry... can't drive to Maple Grove or anything... it's a bit far... orz) please let me know! I want as any people as possible to make it so I'll do my best to help you out.
I think maybe it would be easiest to meet up at the visitor's center at an appointed time... I'll get there a little early and I'll have a Sho uchiwa so you can all recognize me. :3 (yeah... I guess I don't really mind embarassing myself. |D )
Please respond to this and give me your feedback for what you are able to meet at!!
I'm hoping to see up to ten fans there. :3 I know it's not a lot, but for one city in the Midwest... I think it's good enough for now! ;3 Besides, I have yet to truly flail irl with even one fan, so I really think it will be exciting!! No matter what. Fandom is love, numbers aren't that important!
Also, if you can't go to the lantern festival but you want to get together for flailing sometime over coffee or whatnot, message me! Either on Vox or at sourringo@gmail.com . I'll see if we can nail down some plans for that~ I know there were several people who said they wanted to do a meetup but couldn't make it to the lantern festival.
...I think that's it for now.
Peace, Love, & Arashi

wow i've posted a lot today. xD
If you are a fan and you live in the Twin Cities or close enough to consider joining a meetup, KEEP READING! :D
A few of us have started plotting and scheming, and we'd like to do some kind of a get-together, organize the fans in the area, bond over a little Arashi lovin'~~~ We certainly don't seem to have as large of a fan base as certain areas out on the West Coast, but so far we have about 15 people who are *interested* (though whether or not anything will happen or anyone will actually come... still depends on the time and place!)
So, if you're interested, make your voice heard!! Leave me a comment here, send me a message on vox, or send me an email at sourringo@gmail.com . I'm also creating a facebook event, so if you have facebook and haven't heard about it, send me a message and we'll get in touch!
Here's what I need to know:
When do you think would be a good date? When might you be available? When will you DEFINITELY NOT be able to do it?
My suggestion is we aim for sometime in mid-late August... before summer is over but far enough ahead that we can all plan. If people are interested we could even have an early birthday party for Matsujun? (I'll help with the cake!! Or I'll make one, at least.) I think maybe holding it on Matsujun's birthday might be a bit late, but we'll see... tell me what you think!!
What do you think we should do?
So far, a few people have suggested trying one of the booth-style karaoke places in the area... there's one called DoReMi in Eagan and one called Boomtown Karaoke near the U of M. At the moment I don't have too many details about either place but if it sounds like there's interest, I will look it up!
And if that fails, my other suggestion would be meeting for coffee (/bubble tea?/something else, juice? if you don't like coffee or tea! :D ) or possibly doing lunch somewhere, and we could all just get to know each other a bit and flail together and the like (possibly with laptops and Arashi TV shows and lives?).
If you have any other ideas at all, PLEASE feel free to suggest them!! ;D
BUT I think we can all agree that we'd like to keep it cheap... because who has spare money to toss around, especially when you could use it to buy a new Arashi single or a copy of Myojo or who even knows what. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm in college, and tuition... isn't exactly cheap. D:
So contact me about joining in on the Arashi fun, eh? What could be more fun about flailing over Arashi? Oh, how about... flailing together! :D okay, so that was corny, I know... prease to ignore what an idiot I am. Love and rainbows and feathers and sparkles conquer all!
I look forward to hearing from you!
